ME BEFORE YOU - ENGAGING

"Me Before You" by Jojo Moyes is one of my favourite love stories. The plot centres on Will Traynor, a wealthy and successful man who has become a quadriplegic as a result of a horrible accident, and Louisa Clark, a peculiar and somewhat aimless young woman.

Louisa first accepts a job as Will's carer with reluctance, considering it a dead-end position that she is just taking to support her family. Will has a disability, but as she gets to know him better and spends more time with him, she sees that he's much more than that. Louisa is anxious to prove to Will that life is still worth living despite his disabilities as their love develops. Despite the numerous barriers in their path, they gradually grow in love as she takes him on excursions and experiences.

I adore how "Me Before You" strikes a delicate balance between sweet romance and debatable ethical issues with assisted suicide and disability. The book definitely makes you cry, yet it never feels forced or overly simple. Will and Louisa are both fully developed individuals with their own problems and foibles, and their love story is both realistic and extraordinarily touching.

Overall, "Me Before You" is a romance novel that is both emotionally rewarding and thought-provoking, and I heartily recommend it to all readers.
